Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is a hands-on management role requiring you to organise and run this large multi-functional catering operation with the help of your Head chef, functions Co-ordinator and catering team.
You would manage and lead a large team which delivers meals across multiple locations within the school campus
This position will be diverse, challenging and well rewarded. Overseeing the daily food operation for 175+ boarding students, cafe, canteens for both junior & senior school day students, early learning centre and also small & large functions.
The role is fast paced and demands a hospitality professional who can demonstrate previous hands-on management experience with attention to detail. Experience in a large multi-faceted catering operation is essential.
Roster:
Five days a week during term time & function work when required.
Monday to Friday full time role. Weekends may be required on occasion.
Time in Lieu option available for over time hours
Responsibilities include: (but are not limited to)
Making sure the students have a great culinary experience.
Rostering & managing a large team
Menu planning & costing.
Consideration of special dietary requirements including; allergies/intolerances, supplements
Overall management of a prestige multi outlet facility including extensive function provisions
Financial management including working within weekly budgets, administration, food and labour cost analysis and management, stock management
Forming and maintaining key relationships with residents, culinary team, client and management
Strict adherence to Food Safety practices, HACCP and WH&S principles
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Essential Criteria:
Experience & A proven track record in a large multifaceted catering operation
A passion for great food and customer service
Trade qualified Chef
Ability to communicate with various stakeholders
Strong working knowledge of Food Safety
A commitment to team development & leadership
Pride in personal hygiene & presentation
Food Safety Supervisor certification
RSA
Drivers license
