Job Description

The role:

Cater Care is seeking a Full-Time Relief Chef Manager to oversee and support culinary operations across our portfolio of sites throughout Victoria. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences and maintaining highly efficient kitchen environments.

The successful candidate will be flexible and adaptable, able to work across various locations and teams. This position involves travel across Victoria, supporting a wide range of contracts including education, business and industry (B&I), aged care and hospitals.

Roster: 40 hours per week

What this role involves:

  • Dual responsibilities in food preparation/presentation and site management
  • Managing overall costs, with a focus on food and labour
  • Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety practices
  • Leading, developing, and managing a team effectively
  • Assisting with bulk cooking operations
  • Preparing and presenting texture-modified foods

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Experience managing labour, food, and operational costs
  • Previous experience in kitchen operations and/or site management
  • A valid driver’s license and access to their own vehicle
