About the role:
Gather by Cater Care is seeking an enthusiastic Full-Time Chef to join our vibrant education team at Roseworthy, SA.
In this hands-on role, you’ll craft fresh meals for residential students, helping shape their day while being part of a friendly, well-established kitchen team. This role is a wonderful opportunity to step into a position previously held by a long-term chef who is retiring.
Roster: Monday to Friday, 11:00am - 7:30pm
Key responsibilities:
Food preparation and presentation of all meals served including Residential Halls, Cafes and Event Catering
Work alongside the Chef Manager to deliver excellent outcomes for students
Cater to special dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, and supplements.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen
Follow all food safety and hygiene standards
Deliver fast, efficient service with a positive attitude
Build and maintain strong relationships with students, the culinary team, staff, and management
Take charge of the kitchen in the Chef Manager’s absence
Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) with several years of experience in a busy kitchen
A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Experience in a similar role (experience in education is a bonus)
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently
Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail
Positive mindset and genuine passion for food
A valid Driver’s Licence and access to own vehicle
