About the role:
Gather by Cater Care is seeking a motivated Cheffor our education site in Townsville, QLD. In this role, you will assist with bulk meal preparation and cooking, supporting a variety of events and formal dinners. You will take pride in delivering high-quality meals with excellent presentation, helping to make every dining experience memorable for our students and staff.
This is a contract position for 3-6 months, commencing with an initial 3-month period.
Roster:
38 hours per week
6-day roster with Sunday as a Time in Lieu day
Key responsibilities:
Preparing & presenting food for our students and staff
Support bulk cooking operations
Provide excellent customer service
Maintaining a clean working environment
Adherence to food & general safety practices
Fast, effective service - provided with a positive attitude
Desired Skills and Experience
Your background:
Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Previous experience in a similar role (education experience a plus)
Bulk cooking experience preferred but not essential
Ability to work independently and as part of the team
Exceptional presentation, communication, time management & attention to detail
