Job Type: Full-Time
Rate: $30 per hour + Super (negotiable based on experience)
Roster: Mon 9:30am - 5:30pm | Tue & Thu 6:30am - 3:00pm | Wed 11:00am - 7:00pm | Fri 2:00pm - 7:00pm

Join Cater Care as a Commis/Demi Chef at our Parkville education site and become part of a supportive, close-knit kitchen team.

In this hands-on role, you’ll prepare fresh, nutritious meals for students and staff, working in a fast-paced environment where quality, consistency, and food safety are paramount. If you enjoy structured service, teamwork, and high-volume cooking, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and service fresh, nutritious meals, including bulk production
  • Assist with breakfast and lunch service
  • Support senior chefs with food prep and recipe execution
  • Manage stock rotation and storage
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment
  • Assist with general kitchen duties including cleaning and dishwashing

Desired Skills and Experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in breakfast and lunch service
  • Strong multi-cuisine cooking skills
  • Experience in bulk or high-volume food production (e.g. college or boarding environments)
  • Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or working towards)
  • Strong time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
