Job Type: Full-Time Rate: $30 per hour + Super (negotiable based on experience) Roster: Mon 9:30am - 5:30pm | Tue & Thu 6:30am - 3:00pm | Wed 11:00am - 7:00pm | Fri 2:00pm - 7:00pm
Join Cater Care as a Commis/Demi Chef at our Parkville education site and become part of a supportive, close-knit kitchen team.
In this hands-on role, you’ll prepare fresh, nutritious meals for students and staff, working in a fast-paced environment where quality, consistency, and food safety are paramount. If you enjoy structured service, teamwork, and high-volume cooking, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and service fresh, nutritious meals, including bulk production
Assist with breakfast and lunch service
Support senior chefs with food prep and recipe execution
Manage stock rotation and storage
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment
Assist with general kitchen duties including cleaning and dishwashing
Desired Skills and Experience
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in breakfast and lunch service
Strong multi-cuisine cooking skills
Experience in bulk or high-volume food production (e.g. college or boarding environments)
Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or working towards)
Strong time management and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and within a team
