About The Role

Gather by Cater Care is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant to join our team in Charters Towers. This hands-on role supports meal preparation and service in a fast-paced kitchen.

The ideal candidate is punctual, hardworking, and team-oriented, demonstrating a positive and proactive attitude.

Roster

  • Mon, Tue, Thu: 11:00am - 7:00pm
  • Wed: 10:30am - 7:00pm
  • Fri: 7:00am - 3:00pm
  • Sat: 8:00am - 7:00pm (extra hours accrue as TIL; includes 1-hour break)
  • 6-day roster; TIL available during school holidays

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare dining areas and serve meals to students
  • Assist with basic food preparation (sandwiches, salads, vegetables)
  • Maintain cleanliness across kitchen, service, and dining areas
  • Support service periods for smooth, efficient operations
  • Follow all food hygiene, safety, and security procedures

Desired Skills and Experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in food preparation and/or customer service
  • Contract catering experience (desirable)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced setting
