The Opportunity
Cater Care is seeking a qualified Chef to support kitchen operations within a small, welcoming Retirement Village in South Plympton.
This is an ideal role for a chef looking to step away from late nights and high-pressure service, while still delivering meaningful, high-quality food. You’ll work in a structured, low-volume environment (approximately 25 residents, with occasional guests), where your cooking directly contributes to residents’ wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for residents and staff, including texture-modified foods
Manage kitchen operations independently during rostered shifts
Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards
Ensure a clean, organised, and service-ready kitchen
Build positive connections with residents and site staff
Contribute to a warm, respectful, and collaborative environment
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Trade-qualified Chef (Commercial Cookery or equivalent)
Previous experience in a similar role (aged care highly regarded)
Confident working independently and managing your own service
Strong organisational skills and ability to follow structured routines
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
A genuine interest in engaging with residents and contributing to their wellbeing
Reliable, professional, and committed to quality food service
