This is an ideal role for a chef looking to step away from late nights and high-pressure service, while still delivering meaningful, high-quality food. You’ll work in a structured, low-volume environment (approximately 25 residents, with occasional guests), where your cooking directly contributes to residents’ wellbeing.

Roster (Fortnightly Rotation)

  • Week 1: Friday | 9:30am - 6:00pm
  • Week 2: Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 9:30am - 6:00pm

Why Join Cater Care?

  • No late nights or split shifts - enjoy true work-life balance
  • Consistent, predictable roster
  • Stable, low-pressure kitchen - no à la carte service
  • Supportive team environment
  • Career development opportunities within a national organisation
  • Employee benefits, including retail discounts, EAP support & uniform provided

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for residents and staff, including texture-modified foods
  • Manage kitchen operations independently during rostered shifts
  • Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and service-ready kitchen
  • Build positive connections with residents and site staff
  • Contribute to a warm, respectful, and collaborative environment

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

  • Trade-qualified Chef (Commercial Cookery or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a similar role (aged care highly regarded)
  • Confident working independently and managing your own service
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to follow structured routines
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine interest in engaging with residents and contributing to their wellbeing
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to quality food service
