Gather by Cater Care is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to lead kitchen operations and oversee bulk cookery for up to 400 guests at the University of Queensland. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present meals across Residential Halls, Cafes, and Event Catering
Lead and support bulk cooking operations efficiently
Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen management
Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations
Deliver fast, high-quality service with a positive attitude
Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked kitchen areas
Desired Skills and Experience
Ideal Candidate Will Have
Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Food Safety Supervisor and RSA certification
Experience in culinary roles, with event/function or education catering experience highly regarded
Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail
Commitment to delivering high-quality food in a structured, fast-paced environment
