Location: Ballina, NSW Job Type: Full-Time Roster: Wednesday to Sunday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
The Role
Cater Care is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support kitchen operations within an aged care facility in Ballina.
This role offers a structured, stable alternative to traditional hospitality, with no late nights or split shifts. It’s an excellent opportunity for a chef looking to achieve genuine work-life balance while contributing to a meaningful service environment.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present fresh, nutritious meals, including texture-modified foods
Support bulk cooking operations in a structured environment
Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen coordination
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards
Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and service-ready
Support a collaborative team environment and engage with residents
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
Aged care or bulk catering experience (advantageous)
Strong organisational skills and ability to follow structured routines
Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently
Committed to quality, consistency, and service standards
