Cater Care is seeking expressions of interest for a Catering Assistant / Cold Larder Cook to join our team in Alphington, commencing in July 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic food service professional who enjoys preparing fresh meals, creating quality cold larder items, and working as part of a supportive kitchen team.
As a Catering Assistant / Cold Larder Cook, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality food service within a busy kitchen environment. You'll assist with food preparation, meal service, and the production of fresh cold larder items while maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene standards.
Position Details
Location: Alphington, VIC
Start Date: July 2026
Job Type: Part-Time
Hours: 30 hours per week
Roster: Monday to Friday, 1:30pm - 8:00pm
Pay Rate: $25.85 per hour + Super

Key Responsibilities
Assist with daily food preparation and meal service
Prepare and assemble salads, sandwiches, wraps, and other cold larder items
Support catering requirements for functions, meetings, and special events
Provide friendly and professional customer service
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas
Wash dishes and support general kitchen operations
Follow food safety, allergen management, and hygiene procedures at all times
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in food preparation, cold larder work, kitchen assistance, or customer service
Experience working in high-volume catering or commercial kitchen environments (highly regarded)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
High standards of personal presentation and hygiene
The ability to remain organised and efficient during busy service periods
Reliability and a strong work ethic
