Job Description
The Role:
Cater Care is currently seeking an Apprentice Chef to work at our University Student Residence at Flinders University in Bedford Park, South Australia.
This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in catering and turn your passion for food into a paid career.
As an apprentice we will offer you the opportunity to learn the basics, train, develop and perfect technique and be a valuable member of our Culinary Community. You will be involved in preparation, cooking and serving homestyle & gourmet meals and catering for various functions.
Roster:Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (One of these days will be spent at TAFE during term time)
What This Role Involves:
Preparation of ingredients and meals, adhering to service times with consistency and quality of food
Commitment to work towards trade qualification with Tafe attendance once a week
Development of knife skills, plating up and presentation of food
Maintain a clean kitchen, equipment and utensils
Maintaining legislated food hygiene and general safety practices
Fast, effective service provided with a smile
Assisting the broader team as required
Flexibility to work functions and overtime when required
