Job Description

The Role:

We are seeking a part-time/casual Catering Assistant to work at our University Residential Dining Room in Bedford Park, South Australia. 

Reporting to the Chef Manager, your role is to ensure our students, staff and guests have the opportunity to enjoy their meals in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere with excellent food service and quality.

Roster: Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Responsibilities Include:

  • Plating and serving meals to our customers
  • Friendly customer service
  • Serving customers in our cafe
  • Washing dishes, cleaning and maintaining kitchen & dining areas
  • Assisting with food preparation e.g. peeling/chopping vegetables, making sandwiches & salads
  • Assisting with preparation and service of functions and conferences
  • Maintaining food hygiene, security and safety practices

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Attributes Required:

  • Previous experience assisting in all aspects of kitchen operations and service
  • Ability to organise work with other team members and take direction
  • Reliability 
  • Motivated and enthusiastic
  • First class food safety practices
  • Ability to comply with OH&S and food safety practices
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment during peak service periods
