About The Role
Join the award-winning team at South Australia’s leading education caterer!
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Breakfast Chef to join our vibrant team at one of Gather by Cater Care’s leading university education sites in Bedford Park. In this hands-on role, you’ll create fresh, comforting meals for 200 residents, making a real difference in students’ and staff members’ days.
Location: On-site parking available, close to Flinders Train Station
Start Date: Early February 2026
Roster: Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm, term-time only with a long summer break | Shift variations may occur occasionally.
What You’ll Do
Work alongside the Chef/Manager to deliver excellent outcomes for students
Cook hot breakfasts two days a week, plus lunches and dinners daily
Cater to special dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, and supplements
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen
Follow all food safety and hygiene standards
Deliver fast, efficient service with a positive attitude
Build and maintain key relationships with students, the culinary team, staff, and management
Take charge of the kitchen in the Chef/Manager’s absence
Desired Skills and Experience
What You’ll Bring
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) with several years of experience in a busy kitchen
Passion for great food and customer service
Experience in a similar role (education experience a bonus)
Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail
Positive mindset and genuine passion for food
