About The Role:
Cater Care is seeking a passionate Full-Time Chef Manager to lead the culinary team at our aged care residence in The Basin, Victoria - a peaceful suburb nestled at the foothills of Mount Dandenong.
As Chef Manager, you will bring your expertise and leadership to deliver a refined dining experience that reflects both quality and care. You’ll manage a well-structured kitchen, champion excellence in food presentation and safety, and inspire your team to achieve outstanding results every day.
The site is conveniently located close to public transport and provides on-site parking.
Salary: $85,000 + Super
Roster: Monday to Friday | 9:30 am - 6:00 pm
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and motivate an on-site culinary team to deliver excellence in every service
Oversee all aspects of food preparation and presentation, ensuring high-quality, nutritious meals for residents
Manage and support large-scale cooking operations with efficiency and precision
Drive exceptional customer service and foster a culture of care and professionalism
Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, safety, and quality standards
Oversee the preparation and presentation of texture-modified and special dietary meals
Collaborate with the Operations Manager in recruitment and team development initiatives
Desired Skills and Experience
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Proven experience in a similar leadership role or within aged care culinary services
Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills
The ability to lead with confidence and professionalism, with a commitment to excellence in every detail
