About The Role

Are you a Chef who enjoys leadership, structure and purpose?

Cater Care Australia is seeking a Chef Manager to manage kitchen operations at an aged care residence in Glen Waverley. This role offers the opportunity to combine your culinary skills with meaningful work - creating high-quality meals while maintaining a calm, well-run kitchen environment.

Roster: Monday to Friday | 9:30 am - 6:00 pm

What This Role Involves

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate an on-site culinary team to deliver excellence in every service
  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation and presentation, ensuring high-quality, nutritious meals for residents and staff
  • Manage and support large-scale cooking operations with efficiency and precision
  • Drive exceptional customer service and foster a culture of care and professionalism
  • Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, safety, and quality standards
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of texture-modified and special dietary meals
  • Ongoing reviews to seasonal menu development

Desired Skills and Experience

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Previous experience in a similar role (aged care experience preferred but not essential)
  • Proven track record in managing large, multifaceted catering operations
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Leads with confidence, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in every detail
