Gather by Cater Care is looking for a passionate Full-Time Chef Manager to lead the kitchen at Flinders University Hall - Student Residence in Bedford Park, SA.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine your culinary expertise and management skills to deliver high-quality, consistent meals for 200 students. You’ll run a well-structured kitchen, maintain exceptional standards in food presentation and safety, and inspire your team to excel every day.
The site is conveniently located near public transport and offers on-site parking for ease and comfort.
Start Date: Early February 2026
Roster: Monday to Friday, 11:00am - 7:30pm | No work on public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and motivate an on-site culinary team, including an apprentice, to deliver excellence in every service
Oversee all aspects of food preparation and presentation, ensuring high-quality, nutritious meals for students and staff
Manage and support large-scale cooking operations with efficiency and precision
Drive exceptional customer service and foster a culture of care and professionalism
Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, safety, and quality standards
Oversee the preparation and presentation of texture-modified and special dietary meals
Collaborate with the Operations Manager on recruitment and team development initiatives
Desired Skills and Experience
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Proven track record in managing large, multifaceted catering operations
Trade-qualified Chef with exceptional culinary skills
Passionate about creating great food and delivering outstanding customer service
Holds a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or we can arrange one if needed)
Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills
Leads with confidence, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in every detail
