About the role:

We are seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team at an aged care facility in Kingscliff on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be integral in enhancing the dining experience for residents, focusing on delivering positive service and fostering a welcoming mealtime environment. Duties include basic kitchen preparation, such as making salads and sandwiches.

Roster:

This part-time position requires availability for 4 days per week, including weekends. Shifts are scheduled from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

What this role involves:

  • Assisting with food preparation, including salads, sandwiches, and texture-modified meals
  • Customer service - serving our residents meals and snacks
  • Re-stocking as required, and after meal periods
  • Dishwashing and cleaning kitchen & dining areas
  • Setting tables, plating meals, and supporting the chef with general kitchen duties

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in food preparation and/or customer service
  • Previous contract catering experience (desirable)
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet resident needs and service expectations
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Flexibility, with the ability to adapt to busy and changing environments
