Cater Care, a 100% Australian-owned company, is looking for a Second Chef to support our Head Chef in delivering high-quality, high-volume catering across our sites. What You'll Do
As Second Chef, you will support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and take charge in their absence. Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing kitchen operations, staff supervision, training, and rosters
Performing all aspects of kitchen work, including bulk cooking and tray service
Preparing high-volume meals to specification with consistent quality and presentation
Managing stock, ordering, rotation, cost control, and waste reduction
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, WHS, and cleanliness standards
Acting as a liaison between Front of House and kitchen teams
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
You are an organised, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
Trade-qualified Chef with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Previous experience in a similar role
Strong multitasking, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Clear, confident communicator, effectively liaising between Front of House and kitchen teams
Hold a valid Driver’s Licence with access to your own vehicle
Willing to undergo a Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC), and have a current flu vaccination/be willing to obtain one
