Location: Parkville Youth Justice Job Type: Permanent - Full Time Salary: $85k + Super Roster: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef Manager to lead our catering operations at Parkville Youth Justice. This is a hands-on leadership position where your expertise will extend beyond delivering exceptional meals - you will help foster a supportive and structured environment through consistency, care, and professionalism.
You will guide and inspire a close-knit team, uphold the highest standards of quality and compliance, and cultivate a positive kitchen culture. This role offers genuine work-life balance and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a purpose-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and motivate the team to achieve optimal outcomes
Prepare and present fresh, high-quality meals at scale
Oversee the preparation and service of special dietary requirements
Ensure full compliance with food safety standards and regulations
Deliver efficient, professional service in a structured environment
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) with proven experience in a high-volume kitchen
Previous experience in a similar leadership role, ideally within contract catering or bulk cooking (desirable)
Food Safety Supervisor certification
Strong communication, organisation and time management skills
A proactive, positive approach with a genuine passion for quality food and team leadership
