Location: Jesmond, NSW
Job Type: Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Salary: $76,515 - $90,000 + Super

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Chef Manager to lead the kitchen operations at an aged care facility in Jesmond. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs of residents, while ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-run kitchen environment that supports overall resident wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small kitchen team
  • Manage bulk meal production, including texture-modified meals
  • Plan and deliver seasonal menus aligned with dietary and resident needs
  • Oversee kitchen operations: budgeting, ordering, stock control, and rostering
  • Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and food safety regulations
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and care staff

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

  • Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor Certification
  • Proven experience leading a culinary team in a high-volume catering environment
  • Experience in aged care, healthcare, or similar environments (highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to manage a fast-paced kitchen
