About The Role

We’re looking for a motivated Demi Chef to join our welcoming kitchen team at a busy education site in Parkville.

In this hands-on role, you’ll help prepare fresh, nutritious meals for students in a fast-paced school catering environment. You’ll work closely with experienced chefs, gaining valuable skills and building your career in a supportive team setting.

Enjoy a genuine work-life benefit with a summer stand-down period (December-January), giving you extended time off over the holidays to recharge and spend time with family and friends.

Roster

  • Monday: 9:30am - 5:30pm
  • Tuesday: 6:30am - 3:00pm
  • Wednesday: 11:30am - 7:30pm
  • Thursday: 6:30am - 3:00pm
  • Friday: 2:00pm - 7:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist in the service of fresh, high-quality meals, including bulk cooking
  • Support Senior Chefs in daily kitchen operations
  • Undertake general kitchen duties, including dishwashing and cleaning
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in accordance with food safety standards
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative kitchen team
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality food service within a busy catering environment

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

  • Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or food preparation role
  • Experience in school or large-scale catering (highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude with a genuine passion for food and service
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
