Location: Alphington, Victoria Salary: Circa $75k + Super Job Type: Full-Time | Monday to Friday Start Date: July 2026
About The Role
Cater Care is seeking Expressions of Interest for a Second Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, high-volume catering.
This is a hands-on role with opportunity to develop leadership capability while working in a structured, supportive environment. You will be involved in daily kitchen operations, staff support, and maintaining consistent food quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
Overseeing kitchen operations, staff supervision, training, and rosters
Performing all aspects of kitchen work, including bulk cooking and tray service
Preparing high-volume meals to specification with consistent quality and presentation
Managing stock, ordering, rotation, cost control, and waste reduction
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, WHS, and cleanliness standards
Acting as a liaison between Front of House and kitchen teams
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (preferred or willing to obtain upon commencement)
Previous experience as a Chef or Second Chef in a similar environment
Strong organisation, multitasking, and time-management skills
Confident communicator with the ability to support team coordination
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
