Job Description
About the Role
As a Chef at Warrigal – Bundanoon, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day kitchen operations across the weekend and work independently. You will have the opportunity to use the skills you've developed throughout your career while learning the requirements of an aged-care kitchen.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare and cook fresh, quality meals for residents
Complete food preparation and bulk cooking
Prepare texture-modified meals in line with resident dietary requirements
Work independently to manage the kitchen across the weekend
Complete general kitchen duties, including dishwashing and clean-down
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
Follow relevant dietary and food service requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
What we're looking for
Trade Certification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Experience working in a professional kitchen — whether that's a café, pub, restaurant, hotel, catering or aged-care environment
Someone who is reliable, organised and comfortable working independently
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
A willingness to learn the specific requirements of aged-care catering, including IDDSI and texture-modified food preparation
Position-Specific Checks
To be considered for this role, you must possess or be willing to obtain:
A valid National Police Check
Current Influenza Vaccination
