Location: Walkerville, Victoria
Roster: Monday to Friday | 9:30 am - 6:00 pm

Cater Care is looking for a passionate Chef Manager to lead our kitchen team in Walkerville. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine your culinary expertise with strong people and operational skills to deliver quality food and exceptional dining experiences every day.

You’ll take ownership of the daily kitchen operation, lead and develop your team, maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, food safety and hygiene, and ensure a smooth and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day kitchen operation, including team scheduling, workflow and service delivery
  • Oversee menu planning, food preparation and presentation, ensuring consistently high standards of quality and taste
  • Manage stock ordering, inventory and food costs, with a strong focus on minimising waste
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and compliance across the kitchen
  • Lead by example in an open-kitchen environment, engaging professionally with customers and supporting the wider hospitality team as required

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

  • Experienced Chef Manager, or Senior Cook holding relevant Trade Qualification and Food Safety Supervisor Certification
  • Demonstrated capability in leading small teams, managing daily kitchen workflows, and maintaining operational efficiency
  • Well-organised multi-tasker with strong verbal communication skills and basic proficiency in Google Workspace
  • Dedicated to maintaining superior food quality, presentation, and workplace safety standards at all times
  • Positive, approachable, and flexible professional who thrives in an open kitchen and readily assists across overall business operations
